Non Verbal Series - Three Figures

Non Verbal Series: It consists a series of figures which change according to a fixed logical pattern as we go from one figure to the next. The candidate is identify the pattern and then choose the figure from the options which would be the next to continue the same pattern. Let us consider a few examples to clarify the things.

Three Figure Series: In these type of questions  the series or the sequence is indicated by three problem figures and it is required to select a figure from options given, which would follow the problem figure to continue the series. These questions are largely similar to those discussed in five figure serirs; the only difference being that in this case,we are given three figures instead of five.

Illustration: In the following question, a set of four figures forming series is given, out of which the last one is missing. Identify from amongst the four responses, the one which would replace the question mark (?) in fig. so as to continue the series.

A

B

C

D

Answer:  B.

Solution: As we can see that in figure 1 there are 2 sides and in figue 2 there are three sides, in figure three there are four sides. So we can say the number of sides in the figure increases by one in each step. Next figure should have five sides. that is a pentagon.

Hence the correct option is B

A

B

C

D

Answer: D.

Solution: In each step, the four elements on the circumference of the large circle interchange positions in an anti- clockwise direction also the element that reaches the upper position gets shaded direction.
